Why
are Sponsorships important to BC Communities in Bloom?
We operate independently from the national program. We raise our
own funds to cover the expenses of: training volunteer judges, judge’s
transportation and accommodation to the communities & awards ceremony
as well as a part-time administrator and program promotion. The
total expenditure exceeds $60,000 per year and we are largely reliant
upon cash and in-kind sponsorships to help grow and develop the
program to the benefit of all British Columbians.

Funding
BC Communities in Bloom activities are funded by modest participant
registration fees, corporate in-kind and cash sponsorship at several
levels. It is due to our many volunteers and sponsor’s financial
support that BC Communities in Bloom can meet its growing demand
for this valuable and worthwhile community development program.
Our Organization consists of: Board Members
BC CiB is made up of 10 volunteer board members from around the
province. The board follows the rules and regulations for a registered
society in the Province of BC. One paid staff person to administrate
the program.
Judges: We have 16 qualified volunteer judges with experience ranging
from personal CiB involvement in their hometown to horticultural,
parks and recreation professionals they attend a yearly training
session in the spring.
Membership: since 2008, the board decided to develop a membership
program to attract more people from around the province to help
generate more depth for board, committee and judging positions.
